How to Effectively Use Facebook for Your Chiropractic Practice – Part 4

post33_facebookYesterday I closed the post by stating that today we’d discuss how to promote your practice outside of your personal profile.

The reason why I emphasized outside of your personal profile is because, if you recall from Part 2 in this series, your personal profile needs to be approachable and not “salesy”. People want to know that you have a life outside of being a business owner and you’re not just interested in “making a buck”.

So, with that distinction, allow me to introduce Facebook Pages.

You may be asking, “What is a Facebook Page?”

Essentially, it’s a page you create for your business to share information, interact with so-called “fans” and generate a more visible business presence online.

One major benefit is that they’re made publicly available so search engines can easily find and index them, which is an added SERP benefit. The more successful you use the page, the more viral your blog content, practice events and video presentations can become.

Facebook’s Help Center defines pages as a “distinct presences that are optimized to represent a business, and are separate from user profiles. Like profiles, they can be enhanced with applications that help the organization communicate with and engage their fans, and capture new audiences virally through their fans’ recommendations to their friends. More than 3 million users become fans of Facebook Pages every day.

Obviously, from that last sentence, it’s apparent on how popular Facebook Pages are and their expectant growth into the near future. Likewise, with the development of applications on the rise, more tools are available to engage your fans which should initially help in establishing solid relationships.

For example, you can use Sendible to schedule Facebook messages ahead of time to remind people of upcoming events associated with your practice.

Sendible isn’t just for Facebook, though. It can be used to effortlessly connect with all of your email, mobile and social network contacts even when you’re away from the computer. If this sounds appealing to you, check them out, sign up for a free account and test drive their Basic package.

Another application that is an absolute must is Socialistics. As their company Facebook Page states, “Socialistics, is a social insight tool. This means it provides integrated analysis of your friends and networks. All graphs are a reflection of stats relating to your friends. But more interestingly Socialistics creates detailed tag clouds that are a reflection of you and your relationships with people in your networks.

In other words, Socialistics can break down the demographics of your Facebook network and graphically represent it for you within Facebook.

The beauty of this can’t be overstated. If you build your Facebook Page correctly, obtain plenty of fans and allow those fans within your network, you can then hone in on which age group is the most dominant for your niche. With this bit of information, you can start building a marketing campaign laser-focused toward that age group.

With a Facebook Page armed with the right applications, the possibilities are endless. You can literally load up the page with detailed practice information, product and service coupons, photos of special events like Patient Appreciation Days, videos of niche-based health talks, a detailed calendar of events for the year, discussion forums for prospects and the all-important link back to your chiropractic blog.

Even though your blog is the central hub, your Facebook Page can, will and should help build your brand, authority and reputation within your local community if utilized correctly.

So, what are you waiting for? Create your Facebook Page here.

In closing, Fridays are typically devoted to my #FollowFriday series. However, the feedback I’ve been getting through various sources confirms that Part 5 needs to go live tomorrow.

To give you a glimpse of the topic, we’ll discuss one way to build multiple, niche-focused interactive communities for both prospects and patients.
