Recently, I received an email stating that Next Generation Chiropractor had been nominated by my readers for a 2010 Top Chiropractor Blog award presented by BloggingAwards.org.
At first, I was a little perplexed, somewhat skeptical, and wondering whom had nominated me.
You see, many awards are given with strings attached — if you want it, you must agree to embed it with a hidden link associated with some form of marketing campaign or advertising agenda.
Since I’m suspicious by nature, I assumed the same. I almost responded to the email by stating, “I was born at night but not last night!”
However, as I continued to read the email, my suspicions were laid to rest. It clearly stated that the focus of their award was to award great content. And, according to them, the content provided at Next Generation Chiropractor was deemed worthy of that criteria by my readers.
But nomination is only the first step. Each blog is then filtered to ensure that other specifications are met. Once the filtering process concludes, the list of award candidates are then scored by a panel of five judges.
Then, each judge rates the blogs across twenty different attributes providing them with a ‘subjective’ score. The ratings are then combined into an aggregate which averages the score and provides each blog with its final rating.
The ratings are then compared and awards are given out to blogs who reach the 99% percentile (meaning that only the top 1% of blogs actually receive awards). Next Generation Chiropractor was among that top 1%.
Quite frankly, I’m both honored and humbled. Since the inception of Next Generation Chiropractor, my goal has been to provide the very best content this side of your RSS that clearly articulates how to use blogs and social media to grow your chiropractic practice. Apparently, I’m meeting that goal one blog post at a time!
I don’t do this because I’m bored. I don’t do this because I don’t have better things to do. I do this because I have a love, passion, and sincere desire to see my fellow chiropractors succeed.
So, from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU for voting for me. Without each one of you, my readers, this blog wouldn’t exist.

Congratulations Dr. MacNamara on the award. It is well deserved and thanks for all of your hard work.
Thanks, Dr. Sullivan. I greatly appreciate it!
I, too received this award and was also skeptical. But after some time, I thought of it as a compliment as well. Your last two paragraphs hit the nail on head for me. Great job Dr. MacNamara!
There was a nice conglomerate of chiropractic blogs considered and I think they did a great job in selecting the top. I wasn’t surprised to see yours listed since you always have great content to share with us from all angles of chiropractic.
Congratulations, Dr. Harshe!
You have deserved it Doc. Thumbs up!!!
Keep up a good work.
Thanks, Dr. Burt!
And, for those frequent readers of Next Generation Chiropractor, Dr. Burt had some good information to share over in the comments section of my post titled 3 Ways to Clone YouTube for Your Chiropractic Practice.
Also, he’s got a new site up for his chiropractic practice. Check it out at Burt Chiropractic.
