Last August, I wrote a post titled Why Chiropractors Need to Read Socialnomics by Erik Qualman. My premise was to encourage chiropractors to not only read Mr. Qualman’s book, Socialnomics, but to also actively pursue social media marketing for their practices.
Today, I’d like to revisit that post but in a different way. Instead of writing about the power and purpose of social media, I thought I’d provide a short video that demonstrates the return on investment both large and small companies are experiencing through this marketing phenomenon.
As you watch it, pay close attention to the particular companies featured and how they’re using social media marketing to grow their businesses.
For example, one of the stats that impressed me was the one involving Ford Motor Company. According to Qualman, Ford was the only United States automobile manufacturer out of the Big Three that didn’t ask for government bailout money while at the same time had been actively budgeting 25% of their marketing dollars into social media marketing.
Another great example features wine connoisseur, Gary Vaynerchuk of Wine Library TV.
You’ll be absolutely amazed at what he’s been able to accomplish for both his family owned liquor store and himself through the power of social media networking.
Matter of fact, his recent book titled Crush It! is not only one of the best books in bookstores today but is also a New York Times bestseller.
Any serious entrepreneur needs to grab a copy of his book and read it from cover to cover. It’s full of encouragement and tips on how, what, where and why to get started within social media.
Also, if you’ve been struggling with following your passion and dreams, his book will help catalyze your dreams and crush your fears.
But, before I spoil the message of this powerful video, I’ll stop there and allow you to enjoy it!
Question: After watching, what successes have you experienced since implementing an inbound marketing strategy? If you haven’t yet, isn’t it time to start?

I started using a blog and the other social media networks in June 2009 after finding your blog, Next Generation Chiropractor in the beginning of May (via a Twitter search for #Chiropractic).
With all your information and help at implementing an inbound marketing strategy have had an increase in my practice’s volume 20% in the last 2 quarters on 2009! And, without spending any more than the initial $300 for the blog’s registering of the domain name (for two years) and the hosting service (for three years) verses mailing out news letters for $1000 a month with an increase of only 5% in the practice’s volume. How’s that for a better ROI!
I agree. Now I just have to decide if my static website should be my main focus, or my blog?
Dr. Licata :: You should see your site as both wrapped up into one. I took a look at your site and am glad to see that at least you have blogging capabilities associated with your site. My main suggestion is to focus on valuable content that’ll drive more prospects to your site through organic search as well as social media networks. This will aid in increase traffic and your ability to develop relationships with your prospects.
