If you recall, on December 15, 2010, I announced in my post titled Why Thinking Mobile to Market Local is Smart for Chiropractors that I’d be shifting some of my focus away from just blogging and social networking to local mobile marketing. My reason — chiropractic mobile marketing is the link to effective local marketing.
Here’s a recap of the equation I suggested you follow:
A Strong Web Presence + Locally-targeted Mobile Marketing Campaigns + Consistent Offline Ads that are Linked to Your Web Presence = Effective Local Marketing
Bottom line — you’ll more easily connect with your local community via mobile without having to wait for the SEO gods to bless your fairly new content.
With that said, don’t neglect your chiropractic blog. Content marketing is still an extremely relevant and vital part of online marketing. It requires consistency as described in the concepts presented within Chris Anderson’s book, The Long Tail, as well as Mitch Joel’s book, Six Pixels of Separation.
Nevertheless, you still need to start thinking mobile to market local. It’s just the way things are progressing.
To demonstrate this further, take a look at the following three infographics that support linking mobile to your local efforts:
1. The Size of the Mobile Market

2. How Mobile Phones are Changing the Use of Social Media

3. The Power of Local Mobile Search

Pretty impressive, heh?
If you’re still struggling to figure out how all of these parts interconnect and how to utilize them toward marketing your chiropractic practice, then hang tight. Over the course of 2011, I’ll not only explain how its accomplished but will also provide services that’ll streamline the process for you.
In the interim, what did you think of the above infographics? Do they paint a better picture on where the market is heading?

This is the reason why you need a professionally done blog with the tools to make it mobile-friendly as needed. Time to ditch the cookie cutter chiropractic website with the same content as your neighbor and the animated .gif, and get yourself into a WordPress blog that the average doctor can edit himself.
Thanks, Dr. Macnamara, for showing the way.
Wow! I couldn’t have said it better, doc. And, you’re welcome! I’m thrilled to help and serve in anyway possible.

What is a wordpress blog? Many actually think that placing Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin links on their HTML static site makes it a blog or social media compatable site. If it is static you might as well have only a phone number and email address.
Ask Dr. Mac to build a basic one and open yourself endless opportunities. The possibilities are endless. All you need is time and creativity. Make your 2011 cell phone friendly. Allow those who look for your services to find you. There is a free plugin available for every possible application.
Many chiropractors don’t understand the difference between a static and dynamic website. But, once they do, they see the value in going dynamic.

And, you’re right, Dr. Burt … having a Facebook page, Twitter account, and Linkedin profile doesn’t mean squat if it’s not driving traffic to a dynamic website that you own and manage. You must remain in control of your web presence to secure your online marketing future.
