On May 1, 2008, I opened my very first Twitter account. Matter of fact, as of this post, I’ve been tweeting for 2 years, 1 month, 3 days, 11 hours, 3 minutes, and 34 seconds. But, who’s counting, right?
Today I own and manage eight separate Twitter accounts. The majority of them are exclusive to chiropractors and have been instrumental in helping me distribute my message.
Matter of fact, outside of organic search, Twitter brings me more traffic to Next Generation Chiropractor than any other source.
Because of this, I pay special attention to the conversations that develop on Twitter on a daily basis.
But, since I have eight Twitter accounts, it’d be impossible to efficiently monitor these conversations strictly through Twitter‘s webpage.
So, regardless if you have one Twitter account or an insane amount of say, oh I don’t know, EIGHT, having a way to manage these accounts is a must!
Fortunately, you don’t have to look far to discover intuitive Twitter clients. They come in all varieties regardless if you’re looking for a stripped down version or one that has all the social media bells and whistles.
However, for serious Twitterers, I introduce and recommend five specific Twitter clients in today’ screencast.
My absolute favorite is Tweetie.
Why?
Because I can keep an eye on all of the action without its GUI covering the entire screen of my iMac or MacBookPro. I simply tuck it away to the left of everything else I’m working on so that I can quickly glance to see what’s going on.
To see what I’m talking about, take a look at this screenshot:

I’ve got plenty of real estate to get my work done as well as keep an eye on current tweets.
Question: Which Twitter client do you prefer and why?

Tweetdeck, hootsuite and co-tweet are some I use.
Tweet Deck is my favorite. But, if I had my way I’d say dedicate an entire 20″ monitor to social media and a computer too if you have the capacity.
