Do you know the definition of insanity?
Albert Einstein said it this way, “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.”
In other words, you need to quit doing what you’re doing today that doesn’t work and shift your focus toward learning new ideas or ways that do. This is one of the main reasons why I created this blog — to help chiropractors understand that there are newer, more effective ways to market their practices than what they’re currently utilizing.
In 1992, I was introduced to Apple and the Mac OS platform. Since I didn’t have a computer background, I spent as much time as possible learning the programs and how to use the operating system.
I didn’t find it difficult. Matter of fact, the Mac OS came natural to me and just seemed like an extension to my own creative thoughts. What I wanted to do, I did and it followed my lead. Because of its efficiency and ease of use, I still use a Mac today and am a loyal advocate of both Apple’s products and services.
I also keep abreast with company news from Apple. I still remember the tumultuous-led days of CEO, Gil Amelio. Thankfully, his reign at Apple only lasted 500 days and was quickly replaced with one of Apple’s co-founders, Steve Jobs.
When Jobs came back on the scene, Apple was bleeding profusely to the tune of $1.6 billion. In an effort to save Apple, Jobs starting innately rebuilding the company and driving it back to profit.
During these difficult times, the iMac was born which provided a way to take multimedia to the masses. It wasn’t long afterward that the infamous iPod was created which literally flipped the music and video industries upside down.
So, besides the CEO replacement, what changed with Apple?
Yes, we can attribute its turn around success to Steve Jobs. However, it wasn’t just a man that changed Apple. It was a paradigm shift. New life was breathed into every board member, employee, product and service. In essence, they stopped the insanity!
As an entrepreneur, you have the same capabilities. But, you can’t allow the status quo to keep you in the same box. You must do as Apple did and Think Different. Break through that glass ceiling that is limiting your potential and start investing time, energy and resources in new ways of marketing.
Educate yourself on internet marketing. Get your feet wet with social media. Start a blog for your practice. Start an email newsletter for your patients. Go back through some of my earlier posts and put thought into action.
Whatever you do, just move forward. Don’t allow insanity to define your current state of affairs.

I’m curious what practice management/billing/scheduling software you use with your Mac? Thanks for all your great information.
