post33_facebookYesterday I closed the post by stating that today we’d discuss how to promote your practice outside of your personal profile.

The reason why I emphasized outside of your personal profile is because, if you recall from Part 2 in this series, your personal profile needs to be approachable and not “salesy”. People want to know that you have a life outside of being a business owner and you’re not just interested in “making a buck”.

So, with that distinction, allow me to introduce Facebook Pages.

You may be asking, “What is a Facebook Page?”

Essentially, it’s a page you create for your business to share information, interact with so-called “fans” and generate a more visible business presence online.

One major benefit is that they’re made publicly available so search engines can easily find and index them, which is an added SERP benefit. The more successful you use the page, the more viral your blog content, practice events and video presentations can become.

Hopefully, you’ve also updated your profile and started building your friends list. If you haven’t, I encourage you to do so as soon as possible so that you can start laying the foundation for a more significant online presence.

With that said, remember one thing — your blog should be the central hub of all of your online communications.

Social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter are simply an extension to your blog. And, as you’ll soon find out, can be an incredible traffic generator to your blog due to their built-in dominance and high ranking within Google‘s search engine results page, more commonly known as a SERP.

In April alone, Facebook amassed an impressive 67.5 million visitors. The largest percentage of users worldwide were from the United States coming in at 29%.
