Google+ Basics for Chiropractors

Google+If you haven’t already heard, Pages for Google+ went public last week. And, unsurprisingly, many top brands have already signed up.

Should chiropractors?

Absolutely!

Why?

Because Google has beautifully integrated search with their +1 button, Google+ profiles, and now Pages for Google+ which will tie everyone who needs to be found back into their system. In other words, their ecosystem is extremely important to your business if you want any lasting footprint online.

Don’t get me wrong — Facebook isn’t going anywhere any time soon. Matter of fact, Google doesn’t have to win in order for Facebook to succeed. Their business models are distinctly different even though profitability is their main goal.

How to Increase Authority Using Google+

Google PlusOnline authority is a big deal. It not only helps your blog’s PageRank but also builds credibility with both your audience and major search engines.

Don’t believe me?

Then explain to me why Google consistently refreshes its search algorithm. I assure you, it’s not for kicks and grins!

Instead, it’s Google’s way of refreshing its system. In other words, it’s their attempt toward accurately indexing content linked to the original authors. By doing so, original authors get credited with higher PageRank whereas scrapers get dumped.

With the beta introduction of Google+ linked with +1s, Google can now more fully test a system of site ownership using those two entities.

In a nutshell, Google allows site owners to attribute authorship by linking their Google+ profiles to their blogs and vice versa.

Here’s how it works …

Google+: A Chiropractor’s Perspective

Google+On June 28, 2011, Google announced the launch of their new social network called Google+. My first thought was do we really need another social network?

Well, after spending a few weeks on Google+, I’d have to say why yes, yes we do! And, here’s why.

As Google pointed out, online sharing is awkward. Even broken. And Google aims to fix it.

Whether they do or not is to be debated. However, I’m more optimistic this go around than I was with Google Buzz or Google Wave.

Matter of fact, after spending a few hours within Google+, I was immediately hooked. The whole concept of Circles just makes sense, Sparks makes it easier to share things you’re interested in, Hangouts are just more intuitive than Facebook Video Calling, and Huddle is, well, a complete steal from Apple’s iMessage technology which was announced at the last WWDC.

11 Google Plus Videos For The Beginner

Google PlusYesterday Google launched their Google Plus Project. After taking the tour, I’m extremely impressed and believe that they finally got it right when it comes to social media.

Matter of fact, I believe they’re more prepared to compete with Facebook this go around than they were in times past. If all goes as expected, I think they’ll easily propel past Facebook as the #1 social media network in the world.

But, if you’re still waiting for a coveted invite, takes some time to peruse the following videos. They’ll set the stage for things to come.

3 Things That Should Never Change With Your Chiropractic Local Listing

Google MarkerAs the landscape for search expands more toward local, chiropractors need to realize that a successful web presence isn’t just tied to search engine optimized content anymore. Instead, it now requires a player in two games instead of one.

The first game remains the same — one that generates consistent and relevant content through a blog in order to benefit from the long tail effect. This guarantees success well into the future when trying to build a strong web presence.

The second is more location-based — one that feeds specific and correct information about one’s business into the Big Three, aka Google, Yahoo, and Bing, and hundreds of smaller directories.

3 Secrets Chiropractors Must Now Use For Internet Marketing Success

top-secretAs more chiropractors discover the power of the Internet to market their chiropractic practices, many of them are still clueless on how to build a dominating presence online.

Instead of learning how to generate massive traffic to their sites, they signup for website packages that look pretty, incorporate 3-D spinal images, and promote chiropractic in terms that only chiropractors understand.

Then, after spending insane amounts of money on all of this “cutting-edge” technology, they scratch their heads wondering why their site doesn’t generate traffic let alone new patients.

However, chiropractors that pay attention to how real businesses profit from this new media will not only thrive within their brick and mortar establishments but also online.

So, in today’s Digital Age, how is this accomplished?

Use Google Places to Promote, Connect, and Build Your Chiropractic Practice

On September 15, 1997, two Stanford PhD candidates, Larry Page and Sergey Brin, registered the domain name Google.com. Originally nicknamed “BackRub”, because their new system checked backlinks to estimate the importance of a site, the name was changed to Google after its name was derived from the misspelling of the word “googol”, the number one followed by one hundred zeros, which was meant to signify the amount of information the search engine was to handle.

Google was later incorporated on September 4, 1998 at a friend’s garage in Menlo Park, California. And, as the saying goes, the rest is history.

Google Voice Takes Telephony For Chiropractors to a Whole New Level

A few days ago as early adopters anxiously awaited seeing FedEx trucks arrive at their doorsteps with a shiny new iPhone 4, Google announced that Google Voice was now out of beta and readily available to the masses.

Even though I requested an invite many moons ago, I never was granted access to see how their technology would fit into my lifestyle. Call me paranoid but maybe it’s due to my loyalty to 1 Infinite Loop. ;-)

Regardless, now that Google Voice is out of beta, I’m a proud owner of a Google Voice phone number and have had some time to test out some of its features.

But, before I highlight these, I recommend that you watch the following video:

One of the most popular questions I receive from chiropractors is how can they achieve higher page rankings from Google for their chiropractic website?

How to Install Google Analytics within Your Chiropractic WordPress Blog

If you’re new to blogging and want to get started tracking statistics on your chiropractic blog, then one of the first things you need to do is install an analytics footer script within your WordPress software.

There are different analytic scripts available but the most widely used is Google Analytics.

According to Wikipedia, Google Analytics is a free service offered by Google that generates detailed statistics about the visitors to a website.

Its main highlight is that the product is aimed at marketers as opposed to webmasters and technologists from which the industry of web analytics originally grew. It is the most widely used website statistics service, currently in use at around 57% of the 10,000 most popular websites.
