A Facebook Insights Update for Chiropractors

FacebookOn Monday, Facebook added some really nice new features to their already powerful Insights Dashboard. If you administer a Facebook Page for your chiropractic practice, you owe it to yourself to learn about these new updates.

To make things easier, you can download the official Facebook Insights Guide Update by clicking HERE.

As Facebook reminds us, having good analytics is key to successfully growing a business. For chiropractors, this relates to both your online as well as your offline presence.

For instance, web analytics give chiropractors the ability to determine if specific marketing campaigns are paying off. By not utilizing them, how do you determine the ROI for each campaign?

Remember, you’re the CEO of your own practice. Even though you may not be accountable to stockholders, you still need to run your chiropractic business like a Fortune 500 company. Plus, by being a good steward, you’re more capable of thwarting the effects of these turbulent economic times.

One of the most exciting features of Facebook’s Insight update is the ability to view metrics associated with people that have checked in to your business or claimed your “Deal of the Week”.

With just a few clicks, you can determine who is the most active Facebook fan and then make necessary changes to your engagement strategy in order to stimulate even greater response.

As Facebook states, Facebook is rebuilding the web around people, and lets businesses build authentic connections at scale. In the User section, you can learn more about the people who engage with your Page.

Facebook Users

Furthermore, when you create compelling content, people will want to interact with it by commenting, liking, or writing on your Wall. These people help to share your content organically throughout Facebook, as their interactions lead to organic stories being published in their friends’ News Feeds.

The Interactions section of Insights allows you to track how people interact with your stories, and helps you evolve your content to make it more effective.

Facebook Interactions

Another nice tip inside the Facebook Insights Guide is how to get more fans and interactions for your Page. Facebook suggests that you run a Facebook Ad campaign which costs pennies on the dollar compared to other online ad campaigns.

To get started, simply click on ‘Create an Ad’ at the top right hand corner of any page within Insights.

Question: How often do you check your Facebook analytics? What insights (no pun intended) have you gleaned from them that changed the way your market within Facebook?

  1. The new FB statistics is an awesome way to monitor the pulse of your network. However, FB is making way too many changes in a short period of time in my opinion. Just recently, I had to replace XFBML with an iFrame code and for some reason the faces of my fans and counter do not show up on my blog. I hope this is just a temporary glitch. Great post by the way!

    • I agree, Dr. Burt. Sometimes it’s just too hard to keep up with when running a busy practice. No worries, though. I’ll try to keep you up-to-date to the best of my abilities. :-)

      • Just fixed the glitch. It turned out that the dimensions of the frame were incorrect. I am pretty sure that many will experience this sort of problem.

Here is the fix: NOTE – this is only the protion of the Iframe code. Facebook automatically generates the height at 62 pixels which is too small and will not show the faces of your fans. You must increase it to 200 manually. This particular code does not show stream and header.

          ;width=292&colorscheme=light&show_faces=true&stream=false&header=false&height=62″ style=”border:none; overflow:hidden; width:292px; height:62px;”
          CORRECT
          ;width=292&colorscheme=light&show_faces=true&stream=false&header=false&height=200″ style=”border:none; overflow:hidden; width:292px; height:200px;”

        • Yeah, you’ve got to watch their code. Likewise, if the width isn’t fitting your sidebar, just adjust it to whatever your sidebar width requires and you should be good to go.

          Thanks for sharing, doc!
