How Genbook Can Grow Your Chiropractic Practice

email

GenbookAs we enter a new year, you may be thinking about areas of your practice you want to change, grow or improve. If so, you should be investing in new online technologies to help achieve those goals.

As Dr. MacNamara has attested to in a past article, one of the easiest-to-use, most affordable and productive technologies with a strong ROI (Return on Investment) is Genbook, an online appointment scheduling solution for small businesses.

In fact, since appointment scheduling is so vital to growing a small customer-focused business like a chiropractic practice, the industry represents one of the most prevalent users of Genbook.

So what can Genbook do for your chiropractic practice?

Genbook is like having an office manager working around the clock to grow your practice for less than $1 per day.

Genbook’s cloud-based software frees your practice from the tiresome task of appointment scheduling while offering your patients the convenience of scheduling online in real-time, 24×7.

A “BookNow” button can be placed directly on your website and Facebook Page, turning web visitors into confirmed appointments.

Genbook saves you time and money while growing your revenues, reducing no-shows, increasing customer satisfaction (no more phone tag), and collecting and publishing customer reviews.

While there are several online scheduling solutions on the market, there are a few important questions to ask when choosing the one that best satisfies your needs:

  • Does the service offer appointment confirmation in real-time?
If not, this means that you and your staff won’t see the scheduled appointments right away. This is likely to lead to double bookings and schedule confusion that will have a negative impact on your practice.
  • Is the scheduling interface easy to use?
Your patients should have no problems navigating the scheduling page and confirming an appointment in just a few minutes. Look for a service that is intuitive to use as well as visually appealing. After all, the online scheduler you choose will be a part of your website, thus your overall brand.
  • Will the service be around for the long term?
Many online schedulers have come and gone, so look for the original innovator in the space that is constantly meeting the requirements of small businesses in your specific industry.
  • Does the service help you manage, understand, and grow your practice?
A few examples of must-have features include calendar synchronization, automatically collected and published customer reviews, staff logins, business analytics tools, and Apps for Facebook, iPhone, and Android.

You don’t have to take my word for it. Let’s hear directly from a chiropractor who uses Genbook:

Dr. Aaron Ferguson of ChiroCare Chiropractic & Massage in San Francisco:

How has your practice grown since you began using Genbook?

Because patients love the convenience of scheduling online and choosing the time that works best for them, I estimate that I see about 10 patients more per week than before I implemented Genbook. The 44 positive reviews on our Genbook scheduling webpage from recent and verified patients have generated many new appointments. Also, my staff and I are more productive because we’re not wasting time on the phone with calls for appointments, cancellations and rescheduling. I don’t need a receptionist anymore to answer the phones, which saves me about $30,000 per year. Plus, Genbook shows up every day, never complains and never gets sick.

What percentage of your patients book online?

Around 75 – 80%.

Have you used any Daily Deal promotions?

Yes, we offered a deal for our massage service and sold hundreds of vouchers. 90% booked through Genbook. I would not have been able to handle the hundreds of phone calls. Genbook made this deal easy on our staff and our patients because new patients could see what timeslots were open and book themselves.

What do your patients think?

My patients love using Genbook. They love that they can manage their own appointments. We receive bookings at all hours of the night and day.

Dr. Ferguson’s experience is a great example of how Genbook can attract new and retain existing patients, improve patient satisfaction, lower overhead, grow revenues, promote your practice’s reputation online, and help manage Daily Deals.

Other chiropractors report additional benefits such as better regulated schedules, increased staff utilization and productivity, better customer records, and more money to invest in other areas of their practice.

  1. Thanks very much for letting Genbook borrow your blog. ;-)
    Keep up the great work!

  2. Dr. Mac, you’re always on top of things when it comes to technology. Keep this good stuff coming, our profession needs it!

  3. Hey Dr. MacNamara,

I read your blog about starting a practice for under $1000 and have finally implemented all three tools. I just started my 30-day free trial of Genbook and was wondering how it works with DrChrono. I was using DrChrono to do all of scheduling, but am not sure how to connect the two, or do I just use Genbook for scheduling now? I think both of these programs are amazing and would love to FULLY implement their capabilities.

Thank you so much for your awesome information!

    • Hi, Dr. Stoklosa.

Thanks for visiting my blog. I’m glad you’re enjoying its content and putting the tips to good use.

Regarding your question, you’d need to contact both Genbook and DrChrono to see if their APIs allow linking the two programs. If they do, it’d definitely make things more efficient and enjoyable to use.

Whatever you find out, please let me know. Other chiropractors reading our comments will want to know. ;-)

  4. Dr T.R. Jacobs says:

I spent about two hours trying to set up Genbook only to realize it defaults to on patient every 15 minutes, the tech support said there is no other option for “double booking” so I have to give Genbook a pass and try one of their competitors. I want more flexibility in booking regular visits, 15 minutes ain’t gonna cut it for a lot of chiros.

Thanks for the tip, I will check them out!
