UPDATE: If you are a Windows user, 16 Software offers a program called Breevy that functions similar to TextExpander for Mac OS X. Make sure you check it out!
As a busy professional and entrepreneur, every second counts. Likewise, if you organize your life and implement efficient systems, the potential to earn a greater income will only increase — ergo the saying that time is money.
Furthermore, when chiropractors consider blogging, they should also consider how to make it more efficient.
Why?
Well, because time is money! ![]()
You see one of the traps chiropractors run into when using computers is retyping the same group of text over and over again.
Instead of falling into this trap repeatedly, why not figure out a way to avoid it from the beginning?
If you accomplish this, you’ll be following the true definition of a professional — someone who learns how to efficiently operate at peak performance consistently over time.
So, if you consider yourself a chiropractic professional and a serious chiropractic blogger, you should be looking for ways that make your time more efficient as you write your chiropractic blog posts.
One of the tools I’ve found that helps accomplish the aforementioned is TextExpander by Smile On My Mac.
Like their website states, TextExpander saves you countless keystrokes with customized abbreviations for your frequently-used text strings and images.
Here are just a few of the features packed into this little software program:
- Save thousands of keystrokes by using short abbreviations to insert “snippets” containing frequently-used phrases and images
- Insert standard greetings and signatures — including formatted text and pictures
- Assign hotkeys to save even more time when creating, editing and searching your snippets.
- Reposition the cursor in the expanded snippet, or use our new fill-in-the-blank snippets to enter variable data in multiple fields.
- Organize snippets into groups
- Add snippet groups from external files and online sources
- Sync snippets via MobileMe or Dropbox
- Insert the current date and time in any format you prefer
- Add common typos to your snippet library—TextExpander will automatically correct them for you!
- Type special characters without having to launch a special characters palette
- Trigger snippet expansions automatically by typing the abbreviations you specify, or use any one of over 30 delimiter characters as a trigger
- Position the cursor wherever you want in your expanded snippet
- Programmers: make editor-independent code templates; invoke AppleScripts and shell scripts

Dr. Kalla :: Glad you enjoyed the screencast. And, I appreciate the heads up on FastFox Typing Expander. My readers who use Windows will appreciate the suggestion.
Just wanted to let the Windows users here know, I wrote a program called Breevy, which is a lot like TextExpander and runs on Windows.
And for those who use both Macs and Windows PCs, Breevy can optionally import, export, and sync with your TextExpander snippets, allowing you to use your snippets on your Macs as well as your PCs.
Best,
Patrick
Thanks, Patrick, for letting us know about your product. I’ve updated the introduction of this post with your information for Windows’ users. I wish you much success!
