How to Create a Facebook Fan Page for Your Chiropractic Practice

As Facebook approaches 500 million users, chiropractors need to understand the importance of this global network and how to connect their practices with its members.

With around 50% of their active users logging in on any given day, people are spending over 500 billion minutes per month interacting with friends and loved ones.

In addition, people are also interacting with over 160 million objects (pages, groups, and events) with the average user connecting to 60 pages, groups, and events each month.

But, just having an account doesn’t guarantee chiropractic marketing success. Chiropractors need to implement other tools in order to connect prospects to business.

Out of the three Facebook objects mentioned earlier, a fan page gives chiropractors the ability to not only educate users on the value of chiropractic but also to capture prospect data through an inbound marketing funnel.

With that said, please remember that social media networks like Facebook and Twitter are tools to be used whereas blogs and websites are assets to be owned and grown. When chiropractors understand this model, they’ll more easily find, connect, and drive quality prospects back to their blogs.

Even though I recently published an article that demonstrates how to customize a Facebook landing page, I still receive emails, phone calls, and Twitter DMs asking me how to create a Facebook fan page.

You’d think this feature would be easily accessible from one’s home page. But, unless you’ve already created a fan page in the past, an easily accessible link to get started isn’t available.

So, I decided to put together a step-by-step guide on how to create your first Facebook fan page for your chiropractic practice.

Step One

Log into your account …

Step Two

Scroll to the very bottom and click on the “Help” link …

Step Three

Click on “Pages for Businesses” listed within their “Applications and Features” section …

Step Four

Then, click on “Creating and administering your Page” …

Step Five

Next, click on “How can I create a Page?” …

Step Six

Look within that section for the “here” link … click on it …

Step Seven

Select “Local business” and get started …

Pretty amazing that they bury this feature that far down, isn’t it?

But, for those that already have a fan page and would like to create another one, the process is much simpler. It only takes three steps instead of seven as follows:

Step One

From your home page, look for and click on “Ads and Pages” …

Step Two

Then, click on “+ Create Page” …

Step Three

Select “Local business” and get started …

I trust the above has been helpful. However, please understand that Facebook occasionally makes changes to their layout which could outdate this guide. If that occurs, I’ll try to update this post in a timely manner.

Question: Have you created a Facebook fan page for your chiropractic practice? If so, how successful have you been to both connecting with patients as well as capturing prospect date via a customized landing page?

  1. Wow Doc, Facebook sure made some changes since I created my fan page a little over a year ago!

It’s proved to be a very effective tool to connect with my patients and some prospective new ones.
I use it as a way to educate them on the value of Chiropractic by feeding my blog’s posts to it via networked blogs application and use it to post status updates regarding closings and any special local community events my practice is sponsoring.

Right now using your information regarding static FBML application to work on creating a tab for a landing page for my eBook which will capture prospects names and email addresses and will subscribe them to my blog’s posts RSS feed via an email newsletter.

Next is creating a welcome video for my blog’s about page which I will then put into a welcome landing page using your helpful information.

    Basically, just following your lead!

    • By offering an eBook, your opt-ins will dramatically increase when compared to a standard opt-in. I continue to test this on Next Generation Chiropractor and have been pleased with its results.

Sounds like you’re on the right path. Let me know when you get your landing page up so that I can check it out.

      • The landing page for the eBook will be up on or shortly after Sept 7th when the blog post announcing it goes out.
Once you get a chance to check it out, I’d great appreciate it if you’d let me know what you think of it.
        Thanks!

  2. It’s odd that Facebook makes it so hard to access the pages that you administer. Here’s a quick link, in case it becomes impossible to navigate through their maze to find your stuff. http://www.facebook.com/pages/manage/

I’ve also found it helpful to just put up a bookmark of your page on your browser to have it handy.

Thanks for the great advice, doc!

    Todd

  3. As always, thank you for the excellent information!

    Hi

Someone might be able to help me out with this one. If so, Ill be indebted forever, because I have spent hours trying to figure out why no one is receiving my invite to my fan page for my chiropractic clinic. Ive tried contacting facebook but no one responds to my comments or emails. Does anyone have any ideas what I could do to remedy this situation?

    Thanks a lot!
