How to Effectively Use Facebook for Your Chiropractic Practice – Part 1

post30_facebook-2Twitter seems to be the dominant theme these days. Celebrities have embraced it, Oprah Winfrey has promoted it and national news has featured it.

However, the simple fact remains that Facebook still dominates the social media world. According to the latest stats from Alexa.com, Facebook is #4 on the world’s top sites list.

In April alone, Facebook amassed an impressive 67.5 million visitors. The largest percentage of users worldwide were from the United States coming in at 29%.

So, what does this mean for you and your practice?

It’s simple, really.

If you’re not actively using Facebook to promote your practice, you’re not only behind the times but will lose out on quality prospects from your community that desperately need your services.

If you recall from an earlier post, the key is to build relationships with people online because relationships build trust. Once trust is established and you’re seen as the expert within your field for your community, the prospects can be funneled easier into your practice as quality new patients.

Now, before we move forward, allow me to preface something — if you’re not willing to build authentic relationships with people online, you might as well stop reading this blog, forget about social media and forget about prospering online. To be successful, you must actively participate in the relationship building process.

This doesn’t mean that you have to be online all of the time. This simply means that you need to be cognizant of the wants and desires of your prospects and work on putting together a system that automatically gives them what they want when they want it.

For example, a few of your prospects may desire to play a better golf game. How about producing a video that can be posted on Facebook that demonstrates how chiropractic can positively affect their game?

At the conclusion of the video, instead of beating them over the head to pick up the phone and call your office, why not simply welcome their comments to stimulate a conversation from their perspective? Can you imagine the marketing information you’d glean from their input?

And, at the same time you’d be building relationships that simply can’t be built through traditional forms of marketing. You’d have the upper hand on that niche within your community.

Or, what about the prospect that is searching for the right path toward optimal health? How about developing a series of health talks that you promote through Facebook that educates her on how chiropractic can provide the right path to optimal health?

The possibilities are endless.

And, with the proper setup, you can easily monitor the comments that evolve from your content via email or RSS.

But, you may ask, how does one accomplish this with Facebook?

Well, that’s the purpose of this series.

Over the next several posts, I’ll walk you through the steps necessary on how to effectively use Facebook to attract quality propsects.

If you don’t have an account with Facebook, don’t worry. I’ll start from the beginning and walk you through each step.

If you’d like to get started before Part 2, simply visit Facebook and sign up. You can let me know that you’ve joined by adding me as a friend.

Until Part 2, have a wonderful day!
