As more chiropractors embrace WordPress to market their chiropractic practices, some of the questions I receive are elementary. But, as the old saying goes, no question is a dumb question because everyone starts at different levels.

With that said, today’s screencast covers a question that I receive on a continual basis from blogging newbies. And, to be quite honest, it’s a great question when you’re not familiar with the WordPress dashboard.
Obviously, the question I’m referring to revolves around how to add images to a chiropractic blog post.
But, before we dive into today’s episode, allow me to outline the four ways that this can be done. They are as follows:
Using the built-in Image Uploader located just above the main text editing field, you can …
1. Upload an image or photo from your computer’s desktop.
2. Upload an image or photo from a specific URL or web address.
3. Select an image that you’ve already uploaded into your WordPress Gallery.
4. Select an image that you’ve already uploaded into your WordPress Media Library.
If you don’t quite know where the Image Uploader is located, I’ve included a screenshot of its icon below:

Now, if you’re confused on the difference between the WordPress Gallery and the WordPress Media Library, images uploaded to the Gallery can only be accessed from within their respective posts whereas images uploaded to the Media Library can be accessed from within any post or page.
If you become more advanced, you can always upload images to your server via FTP. Then copy and paste their path straight into your chiropractic blog. The only caveat to this is that you’ll also need to align the image through correct HTML.
If you’re staring at the last paragraph like a calf at a new gate, then watch the following video which will walk you through inserting an image into your chiropractic blog post by method number one as described above:
That wasn’t too bad, now was it?
If you have any further questions, please leave it in the {comments} section below or email me via the contact page.

If you are a Windows user, I highly recommend using the free download LiveWriter to update your blog posts. It integrates very easily with WordPress without any plugins to install, and you can upload photos, resize them, and add frames or shadows in the application. You can use it without waiting for your web browser to open up, so it’s quick and easy to make a quick post.
When you put in an image, you can set the default image size to remember the exact width you want so it matches your column width, and you can crop your pictures as if you are using Paint or other imaging software.
