Blogging platforms like WordPress make it easy for readers to consume content however they desire.
For example, Next Generation Chiropractor offers timely updates via blog posts which are then fed to its RSS feed, Twitter timeline, Facebook Fan Page, and Linkedin profile page.
In addition, readers can subscribe to updates via email either through an opt-in form or RSS subscription.
What’s the difference?
RSS via eMail – the Cake without the Icing
An RSS subscription packages each blog post into an individual email message that’s delivered during a pre-determined timeframe.
Although convenient, if you select this option, you’ll only receive blog posts via email and nothing more.
In other words, it’s like eating a cake without the icing. The content’s good but could be even better with additional resources, tips, and insight.
Updates via an eMail Opt-in Form
An eMail opt-in form provides more opportunities for both the subscriber and author of the content.
In other words, instead of receiving just the RSS feed via email, subscribers benefit additionally from content that isn’t shared or published via my blog.
Also, when I run across something that I feel will benefit my readers, email subscribers are the first to know.
So, it’s like getting your cake with icing and eating it too!
My Tuesday Tip
For readers who already subscribe via email, you probably noticed that last week I sent you an email titled My Tuesday Tip.
For those that didn’t receive it, My Tuesday Tip is a weekly email that, obviously, is emailed every Tuesday morning and provides a quick, short, but pertinent tip that’ll benefit your online experience.
And, the tips aren’t necessarily tied to just blogging or social media marketing. Instead, I’ll pull from multiple sources that’ll help enrich your time online and make your decision to remain on my email newsletter list that much more important.
So, if you are not an email subscriber, I encourage you to become one TODAY!
It’s easy, secure, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
