How to Keep Your Chiropractic Blog Updated Without Writing a Word

Chiropractic MarketingOne of the biggest struggles I see chiropractors face when they commit to launching a chiropractic blog is keeping it consistently updated with valuable content.

When approached on why they don’t, the excuses are many. Some say they don’t have time to blog. Others say they don’t know what to write about or don’t know how to use their blogging software.

Even more say they don’t know how to target their articles so that they show up in search engines while still maintaining their appeal to various readers.

Because of these and a myriad of others excuses, I’m constantly looking for ways to help chiropractors reap the benefits of blogging without the hassle of writing. Let’s face it — not everyone is a writer or enjoys writing.

So in today’s post I’d like to feature one of my solutions on how to keep your chiropractic blog updated without writing a word.

WordPress 3.3: What’s New for Chiropractors

WordPress 3.3I’m a HUGE fan of WordPress.

Always have been and probably always will be.

This blog, Next Generation Chiropractor, as well as the majority of websites I build for Chiropractic Blog Designs’ customers, runs on a self-hosted version of WordPress built within the amazing Genesis Framework.

If you’re not sure if a self-hosted website is the correct decision for your business, then checkout this wonderful Infographic that explains the difference between a Self-Hosted vs. a free WordPress-hosted website.

If your current website runs on WordPress, make sure you or your webmaster update to the most current version. Not only will this protect your site but will also give you access to their latest goodies.

What goodies am I talking about?

How to Add the Facebook Like Button to Your Chiropractic Blog

Facebook Like ButtonIn my last post, I introduced 6 Facebook strategies every chiropractor should know. The fifth strategy on the list was having an Engagement Strategy.

Even though engagement is an essential part, I don’t want you to think that it should only happen on Facebook. It should also happen on Twitter, Linkedin, YouTube, and your chiropractic blog.

Why your blog?

Because your blog should be the center of all your online marketing endeavors. By leveraging the power of social media you’ll not only be able to drive prospects back to your blog but also be able capture their email addresses for future communication and marketing.

6 WordPress Plugins That I Recommend for Chiropractic Blogs

PluginFrom time to time, I’m asked what WordPress plugins I use on Next Generation Chiropractor. Instead of walking through my entire list, I typically recommend a handful that I feel will enhance and benefit one’s blog.

Now if your current website isn’t built in WordPress, then I recommend you read What’s a Blog?, Why Blog?, and Self-hosted vs. Free blogs. They’ll help you understand why a blog wins hands down each and every time.

But, if you’re already using WordPress, here are six WordPress plugins that I recommend using with your chiropractic blog.

Goodbye Thesis, Hello Headway!

Headway — The Drag & Drop Theme For WordPressSince its inception, Next Generation Chiropractor has always been built within Chris Pearson’s very solid premium WordPress framework, better know to all as Thesis. For this blog, it’s stood the test of time, my amateur hacks, and one well-received redesign without a glitch.

And for over two years, I’ve recommended it to those that are looking for one of the best WordPress themes available on the market today.

Matter of fact, if you’re into CSS and PHP, knock yourself out because you’ll need them with Thesis to truly design a killer blog.

But, if you’re tired of coding, hacking PHP, and are ready to get on with design, then you need to seriously look at Headway.

How to Schedule Your Chiropractic Blog Post For Later

One of the nicest features about WordPress is its easy-to-use dashboard. For many first time users, the intimidation of web publishing is quickly diminished once they see how similar things look to the typical text editor.

For example, if one remains inside the Visual Editor, toolbar icons are similar to the ones found inside Microsoft Word.

To align text, images, or videos, one simply selects what needs to be edited, clicks on the center icon, and voilà! … the changes are applied.

However, other aspects of the dashboard’s functionality are either found through additional study or by happenstance as one rummages around.

How to Categorize and Tag Your Chiropractic Blog Post

In my last post I explained that over the next few weeks I’ve decided to concentrate on writing very basic “how to” blog posts associated with the art of blogging and inbound marketing. Today, I’d like to continue where I left off by covering another basic but equally important topic — How to Categorize and Tag Your Chiropractic Blog Post.

But, before I walk you through the steps, let’s look at a few definitions that explain what categories and tags are in association with blogging.

Why Chiropractors Should Use the RSS Footer WordPress Plugin

One of the problems professional bloggers face is having their content stolen and republished on another website or blog. The technical term for this is called web scraping and can become an annoying problem as the popularity of your blog increases.

Recently, as I was checking my Google Alerts and trackbacks, I noticed the URL of a chiropractic site that was scraping my blog’s content without permission.

Since my content is both copyrighted and registered with Creative Commons, I quickly notified the offender of his violation and politely asked him to remove it as soon as possible.
