the Weekly Sticky: Chiropractic Patient Education Made Easy

the Weekly StickyI love the quote by Stephen Covey that says, “Technology is a wonderful slave but a horrible master”.

In essence what Dr. Covey is saying is don’t be intimidated by it but instead embrace it. If you do, you won’t be limited and can more fully appreciate its power.

As a chiropractic entrepreneur, it’s your job to run your practice like a Fortune 500 company. You may not have stockholders that hold you accountable but you should at least pretend like you do since every decision you make ultimately affects your business’s bottom line.

How To Add Facebook Questions to Your Chiropractic Facebook Page

Facebook Questions

Late last week, Facebook released a new version of its Questions Tool. Soon after that it began rolling out the feature to Facebook Pages.

The cool thing about Facebook Questions is that it gives chiropractors the ability to quickly survey fans, potential patients, as well as current patients on multiple things related to chiropractic, general health, et cetera…

As Facebook says, “Learn from your friends, see where people stand, and share what you know.”

Also, by creating quick polls, you can gather information quickly that’ll help you, for example, refine certain marketing campaigns, determine the benefits of participating in upcoming community events, and other scenarios that’ll potentially affect your business’s bottom line.

But, to take advantage of this new feature, you need to add Questions to your chiropractic Facebook Page. Here’s how …

Twitter Basics for Chiropractors: It’s Not About You!

TwitterI opened my first Twitter account on May 1, 2008. In Twitter years, that’s a long time ago!

But, as of this writing, I now have 12 Twitter accounts that serve various purposes.

For example, I have one for this blog, @NextGenChiro, one for my web design company, @ChiroWebDesigns, one for my membership site for beginning chiropractic bloggers, @BloggingChiros, et cetera.

Now I know what some of you are thinking … where do I find time to sit around and manage twelve Twitter accounts on any given day?

Truth be known, I don’t.

Why Chiropractors Need an eMail List

If you’ve been paying attention lately to my most current blog posts, you’ll notice that I’ve been hinting around at how important email opt ins are to your internet marketing success.

Well, today instead of just promoting a certain product or service, I’d like to discuss why chiropractors need an email list.

Before I begin, remember that your chiropractic blog should be setup as the hub of all your online activities. By writing keyword-rich, niche-specific content that meets the needs, wants, and desires of your prospects, your chiropractic blog will be more readily found through major search engines like Google and Bing.

However, driving traffic to your blog for the sake of traffic isn’t worth a dime unless you know how to convert that traffic into quality leads.

How to Promote Your Chiropractic Blog Offline

This is a guest post by Dr. Jon P. Heins of Belvidere, New Jersey.

Before I ever started using a blog and social media to market my chiropractic practice I used direct mailings. I’d pick a topic or condition of the month, create a postcard or newsletter around the condition, and have my office manager mail it out to our existing patients and certain individuals in the community. I’ll give you a good example of whom I’m referring to a little later in this post.

Then, when I found Dr. MacNamara’s blog Next Generation Chiropractor via a Twitter search I immediately got the concepts of inbound marketing, blogging, and connecting with patients and prospective patients with social media sites like Facebook and Twitter. Since, I’ve been doing this all along but in paper form via direct mailings.

So why should you tie them together?

How to Bring Your Chiropractic Patient Education into the 21st Century

With technology advancing at such a blistering pace, it sometimes seems impossible to keep up. From software updates to social media networks, a day doesn’t go by where innovation rests.

As an entrepreneur, one of the keys to success in this new digital world is to not only be cognizant of change but also be willing to adapt, test and then implement when the technology makes your life more efficient and effective.

One of the areas I believe chiropractors have either ignored or missed is video conferencing. Companies like Skype, WebEx, and ooVoo make it insanely simple to connect with patients in a new and fresh way.
