Why Next Generation Chiropractor Has Reason to Celebrate

CelebrateToday is April 1st, 2011. And, even though it’s April Fool’s Day, I’m not joking when I tell you that Next Generation Chiropractor has been online for exactly two years to the day.

To be honest, it’s hard to believe. It seems like yesterday that I published its first post and watched as its stats reported new traffic. Thanks to pre-thought, planning, and Twitter! ;-)

Today, Next Generation Chiropractor has over 250 published articles devoted to training chiropractors on how to use blogs and social media to help grow their chiropractic practices. And, it’ll remain focused on that mission.

Why Thinking Mobile to Market Local Is Smart For Chiropractors

Mobile SmartphonesRegardless if you’re new to Next Generation Chiropractor or have been with me since day one, my purpose has never changed — I’m incessantly bent on providing valuable content that trains chiropractors on how to effectively use blogs and social media networks to grow their chiropractic practices.

For some, the information has been overwhelming. They understand the importance of having a presence online but are too intimidated with the process.

For others, the information has been emphatically embraced and implemented. Three quick examples that come to mind are Dr. Jon P. Heins of Belvidere, New Jersey, Dr. Eduard Burt of San Francisco, California, and Dr. Todd Sullivan of Springfield, Virginia. To use the words of Gary Vaynerchuk, they’re crushing it!

But, as many are aware, technology changes at a blistering pace. Case in point, no matter when you buy a new tech gadget, the sad fact remains that it’s outdated the moment you walk out of the store!

Why Chiropractors Need an eMail List

If you’ve been paying attention lately to my most current blog posts, you’ll notice that I’ve been hinting around at how important email opt ins are to your internet marketing success.

Well, today instead of just promoting a certain product or service, I’d like to discuss why chiropractors need an email list.

Before I begin, remember that your chiropractic blog should be setup as the hub of all your online activities. By writing keyword-rich, niche-specific content that meets the needs, wants, and desires of your prospects, your chiropractic blog will be more readily found through major search engines like Google and Bing.

However, driving traffic to your blog for the sake of traffic isn’t worth a dime unless you know how to convert that traffic into quality leads.

Why Easy Video Player Should Be Your Choice For Online Video Marketing

Ever since HTML5 was announced, I’ve been searching for an easy way to incorporate its technology into both Next Generation Chiropractor as well as other sites I own and operate.

Since HTML5 will be the standard framework that all websites are built in, it only makes since to start moving my sites into compliance. By doing so, I can not only take advantage of its powerful features but also offer compatible content for the latest smartphones and mobile devices like the iPhone and iPad.

One of my challenges has been finding a video player that is easy to use but also intuitive. I’ve experimented with several variations but have ultimately been disappointed with their lack of marketing features — until now! :-)

Enter Easy Video Player 2.0.

Why No One is Reading Your Chiropractic Blog

This is a guest post by Dr. Jon P. Heins of Belvidere, New Jersey.

You’ve done the hard part by designing and launching your chiropractic blog. And, if you were smarter than I was, you let Dr. MacNamara’s company Chiropractic Blog Designs do all the hard work instead of learning about HTML, CSS, PHP, and SEO yourself.

You’ve written and published a post at least once a week and now Google has started to index your site. You’ve even got that elusive page one ranking for your niche specific keyword terms. Yet no one is either clicking on your blog posts or they’re clicking but bouncing right off.

The reason why this is probably occurring is because your posts are either not what people were looking for or they’re nothing more than a sales pitch.

Why Being Serious is Not Always Productive

Are you the serious type? Do you constantly think about your chiropractic practice and ways to make it better? Do you stress about the details and can’t relax until they’re all in place?

If so, welcome to my world. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been told to not take myself and life so serious. But what’s a melancholy suppose to do when he’s predisposed to seeing life more serious than jovial?

Why I switched from Wibiya to the Meebo Toolbar

On February 12, 2010, I announced the introduction of the Wibiya toolbar for Next Generation Chiropractor’s site. For more on its background, please see How to Engage Your Chiropractic Blog Readers Through the Wibiya Toolbar.

After taking the toolbar through its paces, I must confess that the results have been satisfactory. The bottom line is that the toolbar did increase engagement with my content and helped boost awareness through both Facebook and Twitter.

However, even though I’ve been pleased with its results, I’m constantly trying new things and services. Therefore, I’ve uninstalled Wibiya and installed Meebo to see what all the hype has been about.

Why?

3 Reasons Why Chiropractors Should Avoid Automated Blog Content Generators

As small business owners, chiropractors are inundated with advertisements, marketing offers, and other forms of services that claim to increase their practices. The good news is that some of these offers are legitimate and prove successful in the real-world of business. However, as to be expected, some are blatant lies and can be classified as get-rich-quick schemes.

One of the ones I’ve seen lately is services providing autogenerated blog content. The sales pitch typically claims things like the following:

  • Create targeted blog posts on any topic without writing anything!
  • Start hundreds of blogs on any topic and never have to lift a finger to keep them pumping out as much content as you like!
  • Generate traffic, money and blog posts while you sleep!
  • Achieve higher search engine rankings and massive affiliate revenue with self-updating blogs

Why Chiropractors Should Use the RSS Footer WordPress Plugin

One of the problems professional bloggers face is having their content stolen and republished on another website or blog. The technical term for this is called web scraping and can become an annoying problem as the popularity of your blog increases.

Recently, as I was checking my Google Alerts and trackbacks, I noticed the URL of a chiropractic site that was scraping my blog’s content without permission.

Since my content is both copyrighted and registered with Creative Commons, I quickly notified the offender of his violation and politely asked him to remove it as soon as possible.

Why Chiropractors Need to Join Blogging Chiros

rss_256Over the last few months I’ve been busily working on several projects that are aimed toward helping chiropractors grow their practices through the use of blogs and social media. One of these projects consists of a members-only site that’ll literally walk chiropractors through the process of not only starting a blog but actually profiting from it.

Although technology is advancing at a blistering pace and social media is taking the world by storm, most chiropractors are still not actively participating in this new world. They either catch themselves sitting on the sidelines confused or jump in not knowing which direction to run.

Whichever the case, the sad truth remains that chiropractors are missing a huge opportunity to not only connect with prospects that desperately need chiropractic services but also whom are looking for solutions to their chiropractic healthcare needs. Thus the reason for Blogging Chiros.
