Why Thanksgiving Should be a Daily Attitude Instead of a Yearly Holiday

Thanksgiving was never meant to be shut up in a single day.
– Robert Caspar Lintner

thanksgivingI love Thanksgiving! For me, it’s a lazy day spent with family, food and fellowship. Matter of fact, it’s provided me with some of my most memorable family times — times that I cherish and think about often.

Even though the day’s fun, it’s also spent reflecting on countless blessings. Just the sheer numbers amaze me proving once again how good our gracious Lord is.

But, the spirit of Thanksgiving shouldn’t be bound to one day. It should be incorporated within every day no matter how small or insignificant the blessings may seem.

Why?

Because thankfulness is the seed that produces rich lives.

You may think it’s money, material possessions or fame. But, in actuality, thanksgiving keeps us humble and our perspectives balanced.

If you’re having difficulty with this, look to your patients’ files. Think about the lives touched and bodies healed.

What other profession, besides ministry, can impact lives greater?

I can’t think of one.

And, as chiropractors, it’s a packaged-deal. We touch people, remove subluxations and restore health. It’s a tremendous gift that few people are allowed to give.

So, as you share this Thanksgiving with friends and family, I challenge you to live a life of thanksgiving. Not for one day, but everyday.

Incorporate an attitude of gratitude and watch as the principle of “seedtime and harvest” becomes an everyday occurrence.

In closing, if it wasn’t for you, this blog wouldn’t exist. I’m humbled to serve, grateful to connect and thankful for our relationship. From the bottom of my heart, I thank you for being a part of my life.
