If you’ve been paying attention lately to my most current blog posts, you’ll notice that I’ve been hinting around at how important email opt ins are to your internet marketing success.
Well, today instead of just promoting a certain product or service, I’d like to discuss why chiropractors need an email list.
Before I begin, remember that your chiropractic blog should be setup as the hub of all your online activities. By writing keyword-rich, niche-specific content that meets the needs, wants, and desires of your prospects, your chiropractic blog will be more readily found through major search engines like Google and Bing.
However, driving traffic to your blog for the sake of traffic isn’t worth a dime unless you know how to convert that traffic into quality leads.
Think about that for a moment. If you’ve been focused on checking your daily traffic stats, are satisfied when you see a spike in traffic, but aren’t converting visitors to marketable prospects what’s the point of maintaining your blog in the first place!
Instead, your focus should be on capturing quality prospects through some type of email opt in form that’s prominently placed on your site.
Why?
Because its the most important part of your online marketing funnel.
Here’s how it works …
- 1. You publish keyword-rich, niche-specific content to your blog.
- 2. Your blog’s built-in RSS feed broadcasts your content to social media networks like Facebook and Twitter as well as notifies search engines that new content is available.
- 3. Social media networks and search engines then help funnel interested prospects back to your blog which should lead them into your email list.
Once you have them on your list (unless they unsubscribe), you can then communicate more directly with them about your products and services. Just make sure you don’t SPAM them with irrelevant and useless promotions. In other words, you need to honor your list by providing greater benefits and value.
So, in closing, if you currently don’t have an email opt in form on your blog or website, get one! The easiest way get started is by subscribing to an email service provider like aWeber or MailChimp. These providers typically include email opt in form generators that either you or your webmaster can easily install. Once done, shift your focus more toward lead-generation so that you can start building a list that’s marketable.
Question: Does your website or blog have an email opt in form? If so, how often do you communicate with your list?

Great points, doc! Currently I’m working on building my first ebook. Should be ready by the end of this month. I will install PopUp Domination plugin on my blog and will offer my free ebook as an incentive for email address. There are couple of other plugins on the market that can do the job but in my opinion PopUp Domination is one of the best!
You just gave me an idea. How would you like a screencast about PopUp Domination?
Would love to. Perhaps towards the end of this year which is not too far away anyway. This will give me enough time to get more training on Screenflow and work out all of the small details about MailChimp and Popup Domination Plugin.
Thank you
No, I meant that I’d produce it. That way you can see what all is included before you purchase and install it.
LOL
Doc.
That is a great Idea especially with a new Easy Player. Will look forward to this new Screencast.
Hey Doc,
Great post. It’s extremely important to pick a good mail provider. I’ve actually worked with both Mailchimp and Aweber, and would put Aweber above. Why? Because they let you split test subject lines, your email body, and even sending times. Mailchimp only let’s you split test subj. lines but not the main email body.
Would be really interesting to see an article on split testing, since It can be very important in perfecting your marketing message.
Thanks for the great content,
–Dan
Thanks, Dan, for the feedback. And, I agree with you about aWeber. It’s my email service provider of choice.
Another great one is Infusionsoft. If cost isn’t an option, they’re a great resource to turn to.
