If you haven’t already heard, Pages for Google+ went public last week. And, unsurprisingly, many top brands have already signed up.
Because Google has beautifully integrated search with their +1 button, Google+ profiles, and now Pages for Google+ which will tie everyone who needs to be found back into their system. In other words, their ecosystem is extremely important to your business if you want any lasting footprint online.
Don’t get me wrong — Facebook isn’t going anywhere any time soon. Matter of fact, Google doesn’t have to win in order for Facebook to succeed. Their business models are distinctly different even though profitability is their main goal.
Regardless, I’ve grown to love Google’s approach. Its open, more public, includes a better way to connect with groups via Circles, and offers a much cleaner design than the ad-laden eye sore that Facebook produces on our walls.
With that said, let’s look at a few resources that’ll help you get started with Pages for Google+.
Besides providing you with a quick link to Create your Google+ Page, Google also provides a quick video on how Pages can impact the way small businesses can more easily connect with prospects and customers.
Take a look…
As mentioned on their page, Google+ Pages help you build deeper relationships with customers by sharing your thoughts, links, photos, and promotions with the right people at the right times.
Visit this page to get a brief overview of how to publish posts, launch hangouts, and manage circles.
Are you struggling on how to promote your new Page?
Then head on over to Promote to learn more about the Google+ badge, Google+ Direct Connect, and how to encourage others to recommend you using the +1 button.
For all you analytical minds, Google doesn’t leave you hanging. They’ve included a nice section on how to measure the impact of your Page so that you understand the numbers behind your Google+ activity, Google+ search, Ripples, and Social activities.
And, if you’re a coder, they even provide access to their Google+ API so that you can integrate all of their Google+ goodness right into your app. Matter of fact, the more feedback they obtain the more APIs they’ll unveil — so get busy giving them feedback!
If you didn’t get your fill from the links above, then skip on over to HubSpot. They’ve put together a nice, easy guide that explains how to use Google+ for business in layman terms.
