A blog is defined by Wikipedia as “a type of website, usually maintained by an individual with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video”.
The key to Wiki’s definition is that it is a web site. This is important because a web site becomes an extension of your business that never closes. No matter what time of the day or night, the buyer can access your content at his or her own pace.
One benefit of using a blog is it’s dynamic. In other words, it allows visitors to interact with you instead of just reading an online brochure of who you are and what you provide. This interaction builds relationships with your readers. It’s the relationships that lead to business.
If you provide content that meets their wants and desires, you can be sure that the visitors will ultimately become buyers.
So, obviously, the need for a blog is evident. Its goal is to attract prospects, retain them and then motivate them into action. It literally becomes the hub of all of your online marketing endeavors.
