Is it you, doctor?
How about your technique?
Maybe it’s your multiple degrees or diplomate status?
In reality, none of the above really matters from the business standpoint. You can be the greatest chiropractor in the world but if you don’t know how to run a business, you won’t be in practice for long.
A business needs an efficient system made up of proper protocols and procedures. If you are looking for that system, contact me and I can point you in the right direction.
However, once the proper system is in place, you must concentrate on marketing your practice. In today’s environment, you can’t afford to spend money that doesn’t produce a return on your investment. You must understand the new rules of marketing and implement accordingly.
These new rules point to a new leader. This new leader is king. And, that king is CONTENT!
What do I mean by content?
In its simplest form, articles, blog posts, emails, podcasts and online videos that build relationships with prospects that are seeking out what you have to offer.
You see, in today’s market, the buyer is in control. In other words, it’s not about you, it’s about them. With the internet at their disposal, its just a few clicks here and there to find what they want and desire.
People simply do not care that they are walking around with subluxations. What they do care about is providing for their families, living healthy without the devastating effects of sickness and disease, financial security, peace of mind, the ability to go on vacation, and, the list goes on and on.
Therefore, you have to position yourself to fulfill their wants and desires. You do this through quality content. The content builds report and starts a relationship with the prospect. Once the relationship begins, you simply give the prospect what they want.
As Zig Ziglar so eloquently states, “You can have everything in life you want if you will just help enough other people get what they want.”
It is easy to be “busy” without being productive. Many of these weekend diplomate courses succeed in nothing than some more letters after a doctors name and less money in the docs bank account. True I am pursing a Master’s degree in Nutrition in addition to the chiropractic program, but Nutrition is an essential piece of the vision I view for my practice and my ability to get my patients better, faster, and hopefully help prevent future problems in the first place.
Obviously, there’s nothing wrong with seeking out special training for the betterment of peoples’ health.
Where it becomes damaging is when the doctor thinks that the extra degrees and initials behind his or her name will drive new patients in the doors.
Like I said, you can be the best chiropractor in the world, but if you don’t know how to run a business, you won’t be in practice for long.
